Shopify development, including the parts most stores skip

Plenty of people can install a Shopify theme. Fewer can migrate a real catalog without losing search rankings, put technical documents where buyers actually need them, or build a theme by hand when the business does not fit a template.

Migrations that keep what you earned

Moving a catalog is where stores lose years of search traffic. Products, collections and URLs all need to land somewhere sensible with redirects behind them. Done carelessly, a migration undoes a decade of ranking in an afternoon.

Hand coded themes when the template does not fit

Some businesses genuinely do not fit the standard layouts. A theme built from scratch, still fully editable from the Shopify admin, beats fighting a template that was designed for somebody else's catalog.

Built for how your buyers actually buy

Technical and safety data sheets inline on the product page. Request a quote flows for bulk buyers who are never going to click add to cart. The checkout is not always the goal.

A migration with numbers attached

ASJ Products sells fuel treatments, oils and greases for fleets and heavy machinery. It was a full catalog migration with fuel specific collections, technical and safety data sheets embedded on the product page, and a request a quote flow for bulk buyers who were never going to click add to cart. Monthly sessions went from 894 to 2,064 after the rebuild and SEO pass, a 125% increase.

Questions I get asked

Can you move my store from another platform?

Yes. The important part is planning where every existing URL lands before anything moves, so the search traffic you have built up follows you across rather than hitting dead ends.

Do I need a custom theme?

Usually not, and I will say so when a good theme will do the job for less money. Custom is worth it when your catalog or your buying process genuinely does not fit what themes assume.

Can my team update the site afterwards?

Yes. Even hand built themes are set up so content is editable from the Shopify admin. If updating your own product page requires a developer, something was built wrong.
